Welcome to the RTC King's Goblet 2022! All the information you need for the tournament is below.

 

Dates

The 2022 King's Goblet takes place from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th May.

 

Entry forms

The closing date for entries has now passed.

We are operating a reserve list in the event of withdrawals - please click the link below to email us if you would like to be added.

 

Format

The King's Goblet is a handicap doubles tournament, open to all real tennis players from any club. There are no restrictions on handicaps - in the past we have welcomed players with handicaps ranging from +3 to 103.

All we ask is that you have a non-provisional handicap on RTO.

The format is:

  • Each pair is guaranteed 5 x 35 minute marked matches in the group stage
  • At the end of the group stage, all pairs are ranked and the top 8 teams enter a knockout phase

Tournament entry includes

Handicap Doubles Tennis

A minimum of 5 x 35 minute matches. All matches are marked.

Supporters Club

You’ll be assigned another pair to support throughout the weekend. If they win the tournament, you win a bottle of RTC wine!

Daily refreshments

Morning bacon & sausage baps, buffet lunch and afternoon tea.

Tournament barbecue and Pol Roger champagne reception

An informal barbecue in our club garden with a champagne reception.

3 course Tournament Dinner

A casual tournament dinner in a nearby restaurant.

Chase Bingo

Bingo card for the Final – get four in a row and win a bottle of RTC wine.

Target sweepstake

Guess how many targets there will be during the event. Closest wins £50 cash, runner up wins a bottle of RTC wine.

Tournament Entry: £150 per person

Extra (non-playing) guests: £85 per person
